Approach Description: At Clayre Sessoms Psychotherapy, our approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a deep commitment to respecting the diverse experiences of each client. Here’s how each member of our team contributes to our therapeutic environment:
Online Therapy for Teens & Adults
Audrey Wolfe, RCC (she/they), brings over two decades of heartfelt dedication to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. As a queer and trans woman, Audrey integrates anti-oppression, relational, and feminist theories to guide individuals through the complexities of queer and trans experiences of joy, mental health, and trauma recovery. Her approach is crafted to honor and support each client's unique journey towards healing and self-reclamation.
Somatic Experiencing for Adults
Camber Giberson, RCC, CCC (he/him), offers therapy from a heart-centered, trauma-informed perspective that captures the essence of compassionate, practical support. Specializing in neurodivergence and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirmative care, Camber employs somatic and mindfulness-based techniques to promote profound personal growth and resilience.
Gender-Affirming Therapy for Adults
Clayre Sessoms, RP, RCT, RCC, CCC, ATR-P (she/they), provides a sanctuary for gender-affirming care, incorporating effective trauma therapy, EMDR, and somatic approaches. With a background in 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy and disability justice, Clayre’s practice is dedicated to fostering an environment where clients can thrive authentically.
Therapeutic Frameworks
Body-Centred Approach: Utilizing Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) and Somatic Experiencing (SE), this approach incorporates the body and mind in healing from trauma. Clayre’s insights from SP enhance personal awareness and agency, while Camber’s expertise in SE encourages resilience and emotional balance, facilitating a holistic recovery process.
Gender Freedom Model: This model, devised by McDaniel in 2021, is designed to affirm and uplift transgender, nonbinary, and questioning individuals through Play, Pleasure, and Possibility. It offers practical, evidence-supported skills that enhance self-esteem and joy in one’s gender journey.
Trauma-Informed Care: Adopted from Dr. Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Technique, our services directly address and mitigate the impacts of past trauma. We focus on developing new coping strategies in a supportive, nurturing setting, paving a clear and gentle path toward stability and renewal.
By integrating these diverse therapeutic approaches, our practice ensures that each client receives care that is not only effective but profoundly affirming of their whole selves.
