Many of us struggle with feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or uncertain about how to build and maintain close relationships. Our emotions may feel confusing, overwhelming, or even distant. We might also find it hard to understand what others are feeling. While you know yourself better than anyone, there are times when emotions can become so intense or unclear that it’s hard to move forward. These challenges often stem from patterns formed early in life, making it important to explore them in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. Old tendencies can be hard to alter, but it's possible. Emotional connection and/or regulation are available to us given time, practice and patience. Positive change is attainable through processing disturbing events that still influence behaviors today, learning skills to manage intense emotions, and focusing on strengths and resources to resolve problems. .Entering therapy can be intimidating, but it can also be deeply rewarding. I would like to help support you through the challenges as you find a path forward toward greater ease, peace, and emotional balance. If you would like to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation, send me an email and I will respond within 24 hours.

Approach Description: My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in the core values of social work, namely the dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships and social justice. Tome, these principles are essential in fostering a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment. Attachment theory guides my understanding of the ways individuals connect, with special attention given to the earliest caregiver relationships which often serve as the template for current ones. In my work, I also utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify and leverage their existing strengths and resources to address challenges and achieve their goals. This approach empowers clients to envision a preferred future and take practical steps towards it. My training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) enables me to support clients in processing trauma, regulating emotions, and building effective coping skills. Additionally, I am experienced in providing trauma-informed care and crisis intervention, ensuring that clients feel safe and supported during times of distress.
