I offer a supportive and evidence-based approach to help clients navigate post-traumatic stress disorder.
My clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of behavioral and cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapies. I also specialize in evidence-based treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive clinical and research training. I completed my doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington, with a focus on diversity science. My internship at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital centered on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in Global Psychiatry at Boston University Medical Center.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor based in Seattle, Washington, at Boston University. My research explores the impact of migration on mental health, in collaboration with Universidad del Pacifico in Lima, Peru, and Boston Medical Center. This work informs my culturally sensitive approach to therapy.

Approach Description: In my practice, I specialize in using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and behavioral approaches to help clients understand and transform the patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to their psychological distress. My approach focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and beliefs, and replacing them with more realistic and positive ones. This cognitive restructuring helps you develop healthier ways of thinking, which in turn positively influences your emotions and behaviors.
I also integrate various behavioral techniques within CBT to address learned behaviors that impact mental health. Techniques such as exposure therapy, behavioral activation, and skill training are central to my practice. For example, exposure therapy involves gradually and systematically facing feared situations in a safe and controlled manner, helping to reduce anxiety over time. Behavioral activation, on the other hand, encourages engagement in meaningful activities to combat depression and improve mood.
My approach is structured and goal-oriented, empowering you to take an active role in your treatment. Together, we will develop practical coping skills and work towards achieving lasting improvements in your mental health and overall well-being.
