Hannah Schaler, LMFT Practice Description
I am currently accepting new clients for both in-person and telehealth services. Schedule a free consultation today to see if we are a good fit. Coming into therapy can be a big, frightening choice. You may be feeling stuck in an impossible situation or tired of dealing with certain patterns in your life. I bet that you have already tried everything in your power to create change. You might be wondering how a stranger can even begin to help. I know these thoughts because I have been there myself and have walked countless clients through these same feelings. Starting is hard, but the rewards are worth it! I may not know the details of your story yet, but I know that I can help because I understand how brain and body work together to carry you through life. I have witnessed how a mind can snag on certain events and experiences, or how a body can begin to hold on to fear and resentment. I can support you to untangle your thoughts, process feelings, and discover what might be stopping you from experiencing the life you truly want. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and trained art therapist with experience treating trauma, neurodivergence, eating disorders, and personality disorders. I am certified in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C) and Collaborative Divorce. Prior to training as a therapist, I worked as a yoga teacher and personal trainer while also studying fine art and art history. I love combining my education as a therapist, knowledge of the human body, and passion for art and culture. I can provide a therapy experience that is rooted in evidenced-based theories, is developed from years of varied experience, and is as unique as you are. Sessions with me typically look different from week to week. I will draw on myriad interventions from schools of art therapy, behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and somatic healing. Depending on what you respond to, I will continue to customize and craft your treatment plan based on clearly defined goals. If you want to know the "why" behind each intervention, I will talk you through what I am implementing and why it might benefit you. I believe that therapy should be a co-created experience and that only you know what works best for you. I promise to be with you through this process without judgment and remain attuned to your needs throughout. I want you to have an impactful and life-changing experience. If we are not a right fit, I am happy to refer you to someone who I think can help. My goal is to get you the support you need, so that you can start feeling better today.
