Counselling can benefit anyone anytime! We all have times in our lives where we may struggle and require a bit of support, I am here for you, I know you are the expert in your life, and I can hold the space for you to heal. My name is Hilary. I work with those struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, family dynamics, addiction, grief and loss, and more. I understand that every individual is on their own unique journey, and therefore I strive to meet each client where they currently are at, working collaboratively to develop strategies to move toward their individual goals. I have my Master of Social Work and am a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. I have been a social worker for over 20 years, I believe that everyone has the capacity to make impactful changes in their lives and that we are all inherently good, striving intuitively for the best in ourselves and our loved ones. I apply a Strength-Based Trauma-Informed lens when supporting individuals as they navigate their journey through change, this means I can assist you in finding you strengths to facilitate healing and build on the pathways to resilience. I am aware that most everyone has experienced some level of trauma over their lifetime, I am mindful of that and, ensure you will not experience re-traumatization in our time together. I have experience working with couples and families, adults, children and adolescents, while they work to develop and incorporate lasting and meaningful change in their lives. I have an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing my broad experience and education to draw upon a variety of modalities, and applying the most relevant approach depending on each specific situation. These modalities include but are not limited to: Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Therapy.
