I am out of the office until November 20. I will return your message at that time. I AM CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. Have you been through a major life change? It could be a death, a loss, or another huge life event. You’re re-evaluating your priorities. You’re starting to think about what really matters in your life. You may want to find your voice and make choices that are in line with your authentic self. It can be hard to walk this new road alone. You don’t have to! I can support you with life direction (bringing in more joy and meaning), grief and loss, life transitions, and women's counseling for empowerment (create boundaries, reduce stress, increase self-esteem, find your voice and develop more self-compassion and self-care). Together, we’ll work to access your strengths and create a life filled with joy and purpose.

Approach Description: Adults sometimes need another perspective to help them understand and work through life’s challenges. Psychotherapy is all about getting to know yourself better so that you can make changes that will bring about balance and healing in your life. This is a time for you. I view therapy as a gift that you give to yourself. Even if you do not feel this inside, the statement you make by attending therapy is “I matter”, “I am important” and “I deserve to have and live a life that feels good”. We will work together to develop a plan to create the life that you desire. My counseling style combines both verbal and creative means of expression depending upon your needs and preferences.

Have you experienced the death of a loved one or another type of loss?
Would you like to bring more joy and meaning into your life and receive support in finding your life direction?
Do you feel that it’s time to connect back to your wants and needs?
At times, you may not know where to turn or what to do to make things better for yourself. If you could use some support, I’d like to help. Together, we will work to help you create an authentic, empowered, and meaningful life.
My specialties include:
GRIEF AND LOSS:
Has a recent loss left you feeling adrift? Do you feel confused and not sure about the road ahead? It would help to have a place to share and process your feelings about this loss. However, you may not be receiving the support you need and deserve from others. People care about you but may have a hard time talking about grief. Have the ways people responded to your grief (avoidance, trying to make everything better, minimizing your experience) caused you to shut down and not share your feelings? It's important that grief is witnessed by another!
Therapy offers you a safe and validating space where you can share what this loss means to you or figure out what the loss means to you. Your loss may be from the death of someone in your life. However, grief is not just about death. Since March 2020, we have all been going through grief in one form or another due to the pandemic.

LIFE TRANSITIONS & LIFE DIRECTION
:
Has there been a major change in your life? The time that you are in has been described as a liminal time. It’s a time when you can’t go back to what was, and you don’t know what’s coming next. The time in-between offers you a chance to re-evaluate your priorities, find more meaning, look at your identity, create enhanced self-care and slow down to figure out what is needed and what really matters.
Some examples of life transitions include an empty nest, retirement, job changes, age milestones, aging parents, dealing with an illness, graduating college, moving, divorce, marriage or a new relationship, and the birth of a child.

WOMEN’S COUNSELING FOR EMPOWERMENT
:
Women have been rewarded by society and our upbringing for the caretaking of others. Has your focus on taking care of others led you to lose sight of who you are, what you want, and what is important to you?
Counseling can help you feel empowered. Together, we can work on your creating more self-acceptance and self-compassion, reducing stress, having a voice, setting boundaries, paying attention to your thoughts and feelings, increasing self-care, and connecting back to your wants and needs.

Finding the right therapist is so important. You want someone who is going to “get you” and really hear what you are going through. A counselor who has experience dealing with the problems and concerns that you are currently facing. Someone with whom you feel comfortable and can connect. There is hope. I am here to support you in this time of change and growth.
I offer online counseling sessions with clients. I am based in Longmont, Colorado, but I can connect with clients throughout Colorado and Florida.
Because the therapeutic fit is so important, I offer a free 20-30-minute video or phone consultation. For more information about me and my work with clients, please check out my website at https://www.hopeisthere.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
