Jane Park (She/Her)

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
 therapist: Jane Park,
Online in California, Texas, Washington (Online Only)
I use principles from humanistic therapy to promote autonomy, voice, choice, and support clients in embracing every part of themselves. I also use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy to help break down triggering situations to help clients to overcome repeated behaviors and improve interpersonal relations. Most of my work has been in helping people struggling with anxiety and depression, but I also have experience working with trauma and loss. I hope to help you to connect to your own emotions and well-being so that you can deeply connect with others and strengthen your relationships!

Therapy Sessions Jane Park Practice Description
My sessions can be as structured as you would like where we focus on goals, check in on the progress towards them, have homework assignments, and go through specific cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, or open to whatever the person may be struggling with at that time. In discussing day to day challenges, this can uncover underlying beliefs and patterns of behavior that you have been unknowingly (or maybe knowingly) engaging in for a long time. I believe that we operate in the way that we do in response to how our parents modeled dealing with life, or based on messages obtained through society, or even from specific negative, but life changing moments we have had. This method of reacting to such situations may have been helpful in that specific moment in the past, but can prove to be unhelpful in other situations. My aim is to discover what these ways of interacting with the world resulted from life experiences and with this newfound self-awareness, equip the person to make different choices. Self-awareness is the key to change as it empowers you to make a different decision. I think it is so important to create time and space to reflect on these things as it helps us to foster deeper relationships with others, strengthen communication skills, improve conflict resolution, manage overwhelming emotions, fulfill unmet needs, and find more fulfillment from life. It is easy to be on auto-pilot, but to embrace both the ups and downs in the moment take courage and tremendous strength. I hope to help each and every one of my clients to be able to achieve that and experience life to the fullest.
