Therapy is such a powerful, deep journey. And it goes beyond words. Talk therapy is important for processing and reflection, yes, but for lasting change we need to bring in the wisdom of the body and the right brain, the emotional brain. We can experiment with guided visualization, inner child work, movement, body talk, and creative expression to tap into those parts of you. Let's explore what you need together. Your relationships, your work, your creativity, your sense of purpose and meaning will all benefit. It starts with you and your willingness to heal.

Approach Description: My practice is diverse and we experiment to uncover what is best for you. Everyone is unique and I like to explore and be flexible in our sessions. The foundation, though, is mindfulness of your body and with your emotions. We start every session with a brief guided meditation and body scan to ground you in your experience and see what's feeling most present for you in that moment. Our bodies are very wise and hold so much for us--including pain and trauma. So we explore not just what your mind needs, but what your body and heart need too.
Leading trauma experts agree that we need to connect with the right brain (the emotional, creative mind) in order to heal and release trauma. So in addition to processing and reflecting through stories and shares, we also might try: visualization, breath work, role play, parts work & inner child healing, art therapy, dance or movement, writing exercises, or other creative outlets. I'm really welcome to feedback too, so let me know what feels good for you or what you're wanting. I offer a free 20-minute consultation, so let's talk!

My therapy practice is rooted in Gestalt therapy theory, which is very present-oriented and explorative. There is no "goal" in Gestalt therapy, there is no pressure or forcing. Instead, we believe that increased insight and awareness bring forth transformation. The more you understand yourself and the more you accept what you find, the more change naturally occurs. This is beyond a therapy model-- it is a way of life based in self-acceptance and self-love and I have found it to be profoundly healing.
