Hi there! I'm John, a Resident in Counseling hailing from the beautiful state of Virginia. My professional journey is fueled by a special interest in tackling LGBTQIA+ issues, relational conflicts, life transitions, and more. I firmly believe in creating a safe haven for clients to explore their concerns, and I integrate various therapeutic modalities like trauma-informed, client-centered, and acceptance and commitment therapy into my practice.
Armed with Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University, I'm an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling academic honor society.
Before joining CCG, I honed my skills at a DC community health center, where I had the privilege of working closely with the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals dealing with chronic conditions. My experiences ranged from navigating complex trauma to supporting clients through discrimination, chronic illness, and the nuances of the coming out process.
Beyond the counseling realm, you'll find me savoring the joys of cooking, exploring new destinations, delving into a good book, and relishing quality time with friends and family.

At The Counseling Center Group (CCG), we're committed to providing clients with effective, short-term treatments aimed at fostering enduring positive change. Our dedicated team of therapists employs structured, evidence-based methods to efficiently guide clients towards their goals. Recognizing the need for practical strategies over prolonged, open-ended therapy, each team member operates with a core value centered on achieving tangible outcomes.
Established in 2017, CCG has thoughtfully expanded its roster, selecting clinicians who excel in their therapeutic approaches. Just like our clients, we're continuously striving for improvement. Our therapists actively engage in ongoing training, staying abreast of the latest mental health research and practices. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends to our hiring practices, enriching our client experience, work environment, and community at large.
The professionals at CCG offer a spectrum of therapeutic options, including individual, couples, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Each clinician brings a unique perspective, having attained elite, evidence-based training in their specialized areas of expertise.
Within our practice, you'll find a range of specialties, from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Through active and evidence-based strategies, we empower our clients to make choices that spark positive changes in their lives.
