I am a highly passionate and driven mental health counselor mostly working with children, teens, and young adults. I do my utmost to ensure clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to share their story, make positive changes, and allow healing/processing to happen. I specialize in anxiety, PTSD, neurodivergence, and women’s counseling.

Approach Description: I take a warm, inquisitive approach, and with children I’m often playful and silly to keep them engaged. I primarily use a combination of EMDR and CBT, which means we will likely talk about how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact and figuring out helpful changes to improve all three (CBT) as well as using bilateral, or back and forth/left and right, movements to help the brain naturally heal from traumas and improve healthy, adaptive responses (EMDR).

Education: I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at The University of Tampa and really valued my time with such a wonderful group of faculty. I went on to pursue a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Troy University.

  • My typical rate is $150 but I understand not all clients may be able to afford this out of pocket fee, and I am willing to discuss lowered rates for those in need on an individual, limited-availability basis.

Kalin Palmer, Healing Connections Therapy LLC Practice Description
Healing Connections Therapy is relatively new (opened at the start of 2024) but I, Kalin, am not! I started my journey to mental health when I was working as a babysitter and took a job supervising court-ordered visitations. I’ve since worked as a special needs aid, ABA therapist, and finally now have found my perfect fit in mental health counseling. I offer sessions in a variety of methods: virtually, within the school a child attends (Sarasota County), in the home, or in the community such as at a park or library study room. I always try to make sessions enjoyable and many of my clients really like when I use play and art therapy techniques. I never pressure clients to go deeper than they feel ready for, but encourage us to work together to find ways to help the client feel ready.
