Kurt Zubatiuk Practice Description
I am trained as a Relational Psychotherapist. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have a private practice in the Danforth East neighbourhood of Toronto. I share an office and website with a trusted colleague, Wendy Strickland - someone with whom I share philosophies and outlooks, yet posses unique temperaments and sensibilities. I'm a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy and adhere to its code of ethics. As a Relational Psychotherapist, I will listen to you and your issues or problems. I will listen for patterns or repetitions in your life and relationships. I will empathically listen and help bear tough feelings, such as depression, anxiety, despair, anger, grief or sadness. I will stick with you through these feelings. As we talk together about your experiences, dilemmas in your life can start to make sense. As I listen to you express how you feel, confusing feelings can become clearer, and overwhelming emotions can become more manageable and easier to bear. I will help you identify painful patterns in your life, and together think about what they mean and why they occur. Together we can work towards attaining greater clarity and insight in your life, relationships and goals. Together we can work to make past traumatic experiences more bearable in the present. Painful emotions of abandonment, despair, anger or loss don't have to be experienced alone. I can be there to be witness to what you have experienced in your life. Sharing your life and experiences can be a very vulnerable thing to do. I will respect and welcome that vulnerability. I will collaborate with you to gain insights, I will inquire with interest and I will listen without judgement. I can also be there to share in the joys and triumphs, big or small, as we work towards attaining greater clarity and freedom in your life.
