I believe that therapy should be approachable and accessible and often describe my style as, "not your mother's therapist".
Sessions will focus on understanding how the events of your life have created a roadmap for how you view yourself, others, and the world. Therapy will allow you to redraw your map, repair the potholes, and create healthy relationships.
This exploration, along with new coping strategies, communication skills, and emotional regulation will allow you to experience short-term relief and make long-term changes.

Approach Description: Sessions with me are relaxed and informal - you will have space to explore patterns of behaviour and how your past experiences have influenced your current situation. Sometimes you’ll spend the session laughing, and others, crying - but it will be a supportive space where you are encouraged to express yourself.

- Average Session Fee Online - Individual $140 +HST, Couples/Families $170 +HST, In-person $160-$180 +HST
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- A number of spots are open on my caseload for those who are able to demonstrate a financial need and lack of insurance coverage. Fees will be determined based on level of need and frequency of sessions. While these conversations can be awkward, I am always happy to be able to provide support to as many clients as possible. - Online Therapy Details: I provide online therapy via secure video platform created specifically for use with psychotherapy sessions. A link will be sent to you prior to your first session.
As a therapist, I see my role as a guide who will support you through the process of exploration, change, and growth. My focus is on creating a welcoming environment where you are comfortable and open to receiving support based on your needs, and on your schedule.
To do this work, I utilize a variety of treatment modalities, such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), to address your immediate needs, provide relief, and allow you to gain new skills and strategies.
- A Trauma-Informed framework that can assist you through the process of identifying and coping with triggers using Trauma-Focused-CBT (TF-CBT).
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help you identify and enhance your openness to make changes
- Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), a method of communicating that will allow you and your partner/child to identify the root causes of your conflicts (unmet needs) and co-create solutions to allow all parties to find peace and validation
Learning strategies and tools are important, however, at the forefront of everything I do is the idea that all of our life experiences have created an internal narrative that has resulted in a set of core beliefs. Through these beliefs, all of our interactions, decisions, and relationships are filtered. Honoring, and sometimes challenging, those core beliefs is integral to the work you do in therapy.
In 60min virtual sessions, from the comfort of your home (or sometimes even car), we will be able to get to know one another and create opportunities for validation and understanding.
Sometimes weekly sessions will be appropriate and sometimes bi-weekly or even monthly will be the best fit - I'm here to work on your timeline to meet your goals.
