Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
- Object Relations
- Psychoanalytic
- Psychodynamic
Approach Description: I have a gentle, down to earth eclectic approach - psychodynamic with some cognitive behavioral. All the work is centered on you learning to feel in your body what feels right to you and learning to heed it. Together we will need to understand and empathize with the impact of your childhood years, the climate in your family, etc. This will help me to support you through any feelings you need to experience and any changes you may decide to make in your life. While understanding is important, being able to deal with the current challenges in your life and using them to help you grow and be more effective is the ultimate intention of the work.

Moving beyond habitual ways of thinking and behaving is a process that requires self-awareness, intentionality, and courage. My work is a collaboration with you and I serve as a guide and mentor in this process. Along the way there are opportunities to learn how to compassionately handle such things as anxiety, depression, grief, resentment, guilt, shame, and relationship and work issues. I have a rich background as a psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, as a meditation and yoga teacher, and as a parent. I never know which part of my experience will come in handy.
