Employment
At Mind By Design®, we pride ourselves in maintaining excellence in the standard of our psychological assessments for a wide range of areas. Psychological assessments offer enormous power to clinicians and patients. A Psychological Assessment involves the planned use of interviews (generally semi-structured) and specific psychometric assessments (tests) to answer questions highlighted in a referral. Questions are typically around extracting complex diagnoses, helping clarify symptoms/coping style/personality, or, specifying the types of therapy and therapist most likely to assist the client. The components all play a specific role. The interview helps define the current situation/problems and important elements of personal history. It also engages the patient in the assessment process. The tests themselves act as both lens and lever: getting a unique perspective on relevant issues while also highlighting where and how therapy probably needs to be focused. In many ways, psychological testing and assessment are similar to medical tests. If a patient has physical symptoms, a primary care provider may order X-rays or blood tests to understand what's causing those symptoms. The results of the tests will help inform and develop a treatment plan. Psychological evaluations serve the same purpose. Psychologists use tests and other assessment tools to measure and observe a client's behavior to arrive at a diagnosis and guide treatment.

At Mind By Design®, our friendly and experienced staff will make sure you always feel comfortable and well-informed, help you identify the source of problem areas swiftly, help you heal those areas quickly, and improve your quality of life promptly. As you heal we ensure that you simultaneously develop skills and know-how in order to upgrade the current version of yourself to that which is closer to your true potential. As you do that, you will also start to realize that the change came effortlessly and you start to notice possibilities in your world that you may not have noticed before. You will also start to notice that your level of calm, joy, and balance start to set in and that your coping style has also been “amped,” thus lowering your stress and anxiety in dire times. Your problem-solving abilities, patience, and clarity also become enhanced thus allowing you to make better choices, and thus have better outcomes. The more comfortable you get, the more you are then able to stretch that comfort zone, all while bettering your confidence and belief in yourself. This will lead you to find wholeness, strive for what you always wanted, align closely with your values, and start living for YOU in such a fulfilling way. The beauty of healing and upgrading is unmatched. Let us take you on a journey that leads to everything your heart desires and more.

Our courses are a type of group therapy with more of a psycho-education-based approach designed for more limited interaction between group members. These courses entail a specific topic(s), for example, “Stress and its impact on anxiety”, psycho-education on the core elements of the topic, and how to cope and/or eliminated the negative aspect that needs changing. Every session is set in our safe mental health clinic and ends with reflection and a realization statement and assigned homework. At the end of the courses, all the homework is evaluated and each member meets individually with the therapist for a 15-minute mini-session to evaluate progress and go over the customized client’s evaluation with advice on moving forward and any recommendations that the therapist feels may be helpful for the client and her/his journey. Thus, this is perfect for those that are hesitant about sharing in a group setting or seeing a therapist, but still want to benefit from learning about a particular topic.
