I offer psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, short-term counselling and clinical supervision. Most importantly, I practise a holistic client centred practice that is culturally sensitive.
Some people can benefit from a short treatment of up to 10 sessions and if this is the case then I can offer mindfulness based CBT or ACT.
However many of us, due to the complex nature of our experiences, have symptoms of pain that do not find lasting change with short term treatments. If you have tried a few sessions here and there with a few different psychologists, and not found any lasting relief then you might want to seek deeper understanding and resolution of difficulties through evidence based psycho-dynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis.
In the past I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety and post trauma symptoms. I have also worked with people experiencing grief and loss including sudden traumatic loss and missing persons. I have worked with people who identify as victims of crime, and others with relationship issues, drug and alcohol issues, anger issues, and career and workplace issues, including workplace bullying. Regularly people come to therapy without a specific "presenting problem" - just a vague and persistent sense that something isn't right.
This website insists on practitioners listing 'specialities' something i am uncomfortable about as I don't believe in isolating the symptom from the unique individual within whom it occurs!
Regardless of your presenting issue(s) or difficulties, I believe all of us benefit most from an approach that is unique and tailored towards individual needs.
