Before I was a therapist I was a client just like yourself. I struggled with many issues over the years and overcome most of them since becoming a therapist. Because of this I find that I usually have personal experience with at least an aspect of what my client is dealing with. My clients generally find me to be compassionate, knowledgeable, non-judge mental, and easy to connect with.

I was previously the program director for a trauma program which included a residential component. During my time at this position I became familiar with almost every mental health diagnosis and presentation. Due to my time in that position, I am confident I can help my clients with almost any issue that arises.
Although I am skilled and confident working with most issues I do have some areas of specialization. These areas include trauma, substance abuse, codependency, dysfunctional family dynamics, anxiety, and depression.
Most of my clients book a recurring weekly appointment which is just under an hour long (a “therapy hour” is actually just under an hour because it includes the time for a therapist to do their note for the session). I meet my clients via zoom or a telephone call based on their preference (I’m not currently offering in office appointments).
I have been trained in and use various therapeutic approaches including EMDR, CRM, IFS, MI, mindfulness, and some aspects of CBT. If you don’t know what this stuff means but your curious just ask and I’m happy to explain! What this means for you is that I can usually find a way to help every one of my clients find a way to reach their therapeutic goals.
I encourage you to book an initial appointment with me to see if we make a good match. I’m happy to answer any questions at this time. You’re not making any commitment to future sessions by booking an initial session with me. A single session is a good way to find out if a particular therapist is a good fit for you. I do offer free 5-10 minute phone calls prior to booking a session with me if you have some specific questions you would like to ask first.
