(Currently Accepting New Clients) Hello and welcome! I'd like to start by acknowledging that starting with a new therapist can be super awkward, vulnerable, and challenging. It's a big risk to step out and say, "I'm struggling" or "I want something different for myself." My hope is to offer a safe space for you to show up as you are and sit with you in the complexity of life. One metaphor I love to use when talking about the therapy process is that we often come to therapy with a knotted-up bundle of yarn. Maybe this ball of yarn is formed from one type of yarn; maybe it's a mishmash of many colours, sizes and textures. However complex and knotted the yarn, I am here to sit with you as you notice, untangle, and wind up the ball. What I mean by this is I am here to help you make sense of yourself, listen to your story, and offer my support along the way so you can move towards your goals. If what I've shared resonates with you, please feel free to reach out to book a 20 to 30-minute free consultation. During this time, we will talk a bit about what brings you in and a bit about my approach and decide if we are a good match for the therapy journey.

Approach Description: At the heart of my approach is the belief that you know what you need. Therefore, I follow your lead to discover your pathway. To do that, I offer presence and space for you to hear, explore and come to understand yourself. As I like to say, "This is your space." At the same time, I offer stories, theory frameworks, analogies, collaborative experiences, and tools when you ask for them, or I sense they may help your process.
As such, I see the work as a collaborative process with your wisdom and agency as the guiding force. As I often see the work in pictures, the image that guides me is you in the driver's seat, your hands on the wheel, and your wisdom and lived experience at the ready to help you navigate. Meanwhile, I'm flying overhead, noticing the landscape ahead and behind you, helping you be curious about where you are, where you've been, and where you want to go.
I know some people, myself included, like to know the specific therapy theories and modalities their therapist uses. As such, here is a general, but not exhaustive, list of approaches I integrate. My foundation is Person-Centered, and I am informed by ACT, DBT, IFS, MI, Narrative, Polyvagal, Psychodynamic Theory, and SFT. Also, I am currently training in Expressive Arts-informed therapy.
One last piece to offer. Although the common language is to call depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Autism disorders, this is not how I choose to see them. I choose to see these experiences as valid and normal expressions of our diversity and important adaptations based on our evolutionary history. While this is my view, you are absolutely welcome to see these experiences as disorders or disabilities. Seeing them in this way can affirm the challenges they place or that society places on you. While I will hold space for your view and offer to sit in the pain of these experiences, I will also see you as a person who has nothing fundamentally wrong with them, who always makes sense, and who is experiencing challenging things that can offer profoundly valuable strengths and opportunities.
