Prior to being a licensed therapist, I worked with teens at First Exposures, a nationally recognized youth mentoring program that strives to make a major long-term difference in the lives of high-need, underserved San Francisco Bay Area youth. It was there that I developed a passion for helping teens enhance their self-confidence, develop their creativity, and gain a passion for learning. The experience of using art to help people heal inspired me to obtain a Masters degree in Marriage and family Therapy and Art Therapy Psychology. During my journey to becoming a therapist, I have worked at the San Francisco Veterans Hospital, a residential treatment facility with adults who suffer from addiction and dual diagnosis, and private practice.
My experiences enable me to effectively work with people on a wide range of problems, including trauma, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, postpartum, and child/adolescent problems. I use a variety of methods in my practice and tailor my approach to your individual preferences, goals and needs. Some of the approaches I utilize are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, core values work, self-care skills, EMDR and Art Therapy.
