I am a clinical psychologist who helps people to reach their physical health goals, heal from trauma, make career and life transitions, grow in marriages and relationships, and build mood and anxiety management tools. I use mindfulness-based stress reduction, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive-behavioral interventions build coping tools. I integrate principles of health psychology, developmental psychology, and pain psychology to treat clients with physical and mental health challenges. I enjoy using compassion work and mind-body interventions.
I am available to see new clients for psychological assessment, therapy, and wellness/ life coaching sessions through my virtual office with video or phone sessions for your convenience. I offer 25 minute or 50 minute sessions for individuals. I provide 50 minute family or couple's therapy sessions. My assessment work involves diagnostic evaluation for mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, autism, eating disorders, and cognitive disorders. All evaluation steps can be done through video and phone interview as I provide you with links to complete assessment forms online. I also provide forensic evaluation including fit for duty and parental fitness as well as evaluations for spinal cord stimulators, clearance for bariatric weight loss surgery, and problems with eating behaviors, sleep disorders, and chronic pain.
My therapy practice includes teaching parents tools to cope with disruptive behavior in children and teens and helping parents to support children with disabilities or emotional problems. I also support separated or divorced parents in co-parenting more effectively. I take time to get to know your family's needs and create a plan to help you being happier together and work as a team.
My couple's therapy work involves a behavioral approach. We do assessment sessions first to identify your relationship needs and then create a plan for change. We practice tools in session to build communication such as active listening and address differences in conflict management. I guide you in building on your strengths as a couple while growing in your connection with each other. I help you to overcome issues with trust such as past infidelity or lying in the relationship. I also assist couples who are preparing for divorce or going through divorce to become successful co-parents and to heal from the loss of the marriage.
Some people do not have psychiatric disorders, rather you are looking for a person to give you guidance and support in making life transitions and growing in your career, health, and relationships. If this sounds like you, then I would like to be your coach, supporting your in identifying goals for change and creating an action plan to reach these goals. We will problem solve around barriers to making change and develop your next steps and motivation for taking these steps. Coaching sessions can be 30 minutes or 60 minutes with the option for text support in between sessions when concerns come up.
