The decision to seek therapy can be a difficult and courageous one. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons: some want to address things that are holding them back in life; some want to overcome things like anxiety and depression, or let go of trauma; some want to develop healthier relationships; and some just want an objective yet supportive person to help them reflect and talk through challenging situations. But everyone has one thing in common - they come to therapy because they want to make some kind of change. I remind myself every day that it is an honor and a privilege to be chosen to help my clients as they work to improve their lives. My whole career has focused on helping people change and grow and achieve their potential. I draw upon my experiences working in mental health, higher education/university setting, leadership development, coaching and private practice to bring a unique perspective in my work with my clients. My clients would describe me as informal, interactive, and collaborative. The therapeutic relationship is genuine and supportive. My clients feel I "have their backs."

Approach Description: Every client is unique, so I tailor the therapeutic approaches I use to suit each individual client's needs and preferences. I don't have a "one size fits all" approach. All the treatment modalities I use are supported by efficacy data and some have been proven to be highly effective for treating certain issues so I may look to those first, such as Cognitive Behavioral approaches for anxiety and depression, or EMDR therapy for trauma. Early on we will talk about what works best for you and make adjustments if needed as our work progresses.
