Laura Romero
Psychologist, MC, R.Psych
Chronic pain and/or illness can be traumatic. Without a deep rooted sense of self and a toolkit filled with available resources, clients battling with chronic pain or illness can be left feeling helpless and hopeless. My job is to help clients re-instill hope and purpose back into their lives so they remember that there is more to them than their pain or illness.

Julie Willsie
Registered Psychotherapist, BSc, MACP; Registered Psychotherapist
I have worked for over 25 years with clients injured in life-altering motor vehicle accidents. The chronic pain associated with traumatic injury or illness can affect our relationships, family dynamics, ability to maintain work, increase financial stress and reduce our abilities to function in society. My focus is to learn your goals and interests, to try to find ways to cope and move forward for a more productive and satisfying life again.

Can chronic pain get better?
Yes! Our brain changes and adapt throughout our lifetime (i.e., this is called neuroplasticity). Habits are essentially strengthened roads or pathways when we repeatedly do or feel or think in the same way. When we continue to travel the same road or pathway, we strengthen the habit. When we form a new habit, we make new connections and old pathways are used less/weakened. The more we travel the pathway, the more our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours become second nature (e.g., like brushing teeth).
In chronic pain, the nervous system and brain have changed due to neuroplasticity in an unhelpful way. The good news is that we all have the ability to learn and change by rewiring our brain.
Join our clinicians to participate in our 10-session Mind-Body Connection program designed to teach you strategies to manage chronic pain. Meet Laura, our awesome physiotherapist who can also provide additional strategies.
Some of our coaches have:
• Helped to start one of the largest pediatric chronic pain programs at a children’s hospital in Ontario
• Currently also at hospital chronic pain clinics
• Completed dissertation projects on chronic pain and are actively involved in ongoing research
• Hold leadership positions on regional and national chronic pain committees
• Hold academic appointments at well respected universities in which they teach and supervise trainees in the field of chronic pain
• Start psychosocial oncology programs in hospitals

Sandra Corelli
Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifiying)
Specializing in the intersection of mental health and chronic illness, I bring a unique understanding and compassionate approach to supporting clients with autoimmune conditions or chronic illness. Having navigated my own health challenges, I deeply empathize with the emotional and psychological complexities that arise from managing long-term health issues. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness to help clients build resilience, manage stress, and improve their overall quality of life. I aim to create a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, find balance, and develop strategies for holistic well-being.
