Woodland Park, Colorado therapist: Jamie Andersen, M.A., LMFT, marriage and family therapist
Compassion Focus Therapy

Jamie Andersen, M.A., LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist, Woodland Counseling
I specialize in online therapy working with trauma and loss, life transitions, improving relationships, and maximizing personal growth and provide video therapy when it is appropriate for your needs. Video therapy is an effective way to obtain therapy and has increased access to care. Some clients feel the internet provides greater confidentiality. Some people find that they have a feeling of emotional safety by not having a face-to face interaction which helps them to open up and progress quickly. Video therapy works well for most people but it is not for everyone. If you are actively suicidal, a danger to yourself or someone else, it is not an appropriate modality of therapy for you. You need to have a private space to participate in video chat where no one else can hear you. It is helpful to utilize ear-buds. You have to be 18 years or older and be physically located in the state of Colorado during the therapy session, as Jamie is not licensed to practice in other states. If you are using insurance we have to ensure that video therapy is a covered benefit, as some insurances do not provide it.

When you long to feel secure but often find yourself filled with self-doubt and feeling “not good enough”, it can be draining and isolating. You are sick of feeling stuck and deep down, you know there has to be a better way, but you’re just not sure what it is. I specialize in helping women struggling with dating and relationship challenges, low self-worth, and/or anxiety to tap into their strengths and thrive. Teletherapy, also known as online therapy or telehealth, offers numerous benefits and advantages for both therapists and clients. Teletherapy breaks down geographical barriers, allowing clients to access mental health services regardless of their location. This can be especially beneficial for individuals living in rural areas or areas with limited access to mental health resources. Teletherapy also offers convenience, as sessions can be conducted from the comfort of the client's home or any other location with internet access. This eliminates the need for travel time, transportation costs, and scheduling conflicts, making therapy more accessible and manageable for busy individuals.
