Does this sound familiar? You want to feel peaceful and content, but instead you are feeling: overwhelmed by stress, totally burned out, or even debilitated by anxiety. It’s been hard for you to manage the emotional toll of constant and often unrealistic demands. You can rarely find a moment to stop and catch your breath. Each day feels like you are being stretched a bit thinner and you wonder how much you have left to give. Life doesn’t have to go on this way. Hi, I’m Dr. Jennifer McManus and I help ambitious women find relief from stress, burnout, anxiety, and deep emotional pain. It is my mission to provide scientifically informed psychotherapy without sacrificing compassion and genuine concern.

Online therapy is a convenient way to access therapy from the comfort of your home. Teletherapy allows for less time waiting for your appointment, eliminates the need to travel to a physical office, and reduces the possibility of exposure to COVID-19. Because individual needs vary, not everyone is a good fit for teletherapy. We can discuss whether your treatment goals and individual needs can be served through the use of an online therapy platform.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Jamie Andersen, M.A., LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist, Woodland Counseling
I specialize in online therapy working with trauma and loss, life transitions, improving relationships, and maximizing personal growth and provide video therapy when it is appropriate for your needs. Video therapy is an effective way to obtain therapy and has increased access to care. Some clients feel the internet provides greater confidentiality. Some people find that they have a feeling of emotional safety by not having a face-to face interaction which helps them to open up and progress quickly. Video therapy works well for most people but it is not for everyone. If you are actively suicidal, a danger to yourself or someone else, it is not an appropriate modality of therapy for you. You need to have a private space to participate in video chat where no one else can hear you. It is helpful to utilize ear-buds. You have to be 18 years or older and be physically located in the state of Colorado during the therapy session, as Jamie is not licensed to practice in other states. If you are using insurance we have to ensure that video therapy is a covered benefit, as some insurances do not provide it.

Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC
I understand how easy it is to identify the changes that we want to make, but how much harder it is to put those goals into action. Experiencing difficulties in changing behaviors or overcoming painful emotions doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you; it means that you’re human. Therapy provides an opportunity for you to learn tools that support behavior change; resolve the origins of the behaviors; and receive support and compassion throughout the process. We can work together to remove the roadblocks on the path to your most fulfilling, joy-filled life. I work from a client-centered, strengths-based perspective to collaborate treatment, with the belief that each client is the expert of their own life. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) interventions to meet client needs. Whether you are looking for specific trauma-focused treatment, working overcome depression or anxiety, contemplating the use of substances in your life, or just exploring therapy for a stressful life transition, I would be honored to be a part of your journey.

Sometimes it feels like we are just surviving. We run from thing-to-thing skimming the surface, missing the nectar of life. This can lead us down a path where we feel lost, unsatisfied, or completely out of balance. When we make decisions from this place and habitually live this way, we can become depressed and anxious. We don't always realize there is a different way to experience life. We forget what it's like to drop in and be fully present. We often work, love, parent and engage in relationships from this hurried, unconscious place. We fall into negative coping, family patterns and automatic thinking that is less-than helpful. The average person invests very little thought into their life journey outside reading a few self-help books or advice over coffee with friends. Most people invest more time and money on a car than on their mental health. It is my belief that we already have exactly what we need to be fulfilled. We all possess the capability to slow down, drop in and show up for life. This is a place to get intentional about the life you want to live. Whether you are looking for life balance, coping skills, wanting to improve relationships, enjoy life, or just want to do things differently - you have arrived. inspiring you wake up, breathe deeper, live fuller, and get grounded in your own wisdom.
