Not all clients are ideal for telehealth services, and we can discuss whether or not telehealth services will work on a case by case basis, or given other extenuating circumstances (COVID-19 lockdowns, health concerns, inclement weather, etc).
There are some potential risks with telehealth including a) at times the video image may be unclear or inadequate, b) a disruption in the connection may occur, or c) in rare circumstances, the information may be intercepted by unauthorized persons.
When we are working via telehealth, sessions are not recorded unless that has been discussed beforehand. I would encourage you to take every precaution to preserve the confidentiality of our sessions, such as ensuring that calls are taken in a safe and secure location to the
extent possible. At any time, you may decide to discontinue teletherapy sessions. I will refer you to a local mental health provider who can provide face-to-face services, or we can discuss transitioning our meetings to face-to-face instead.
