Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMSW
Everyone has the potential to make life-affirming changes. However, many of us move through our lives relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms. Learning to pause and reframe our responses to difficult situations can create better outcomes, deeper relationships, and more life satisfaction.
You bring a unique sense of self determination into the therapeutic space. Using a strengths-based perspective, we’ll build upon the gifts you already possess to bust through the patterns of thinking and behavior keeping you from accomplishing your goals. We’ll collaborate to find new ways of coping, identify roadblocks, and find the path forward that’s right for you.
While this process goes at your own pace, I’ll sometimes push you to move beyond your comfort zone so you can gain new insight into yourself, your history, and the root cause of your challenges. Sharing your private thoughts and feelings can feel vulnerable. So first, I emphasize cultivating a trusting, respectful therapeutic relationship where you feel fully comfortable opening up about your inner life. My goal is to make therapy a positive experience where you’re empowered to make lasting changes.

Dr. Eric Fields
Psychologist, PsyD
I only offer treatment and therapy via online video conferencing. Since initially having to move to this mode of therapy due to Covid-19, I have discovered that it is just as effective as in-person treatment. Also, its convenience has resulted in far less cancellations/latenesses that has greatly benefitted my patients, as treatment regularity is essential for significant progress and gains!

Online therapy can be a freeing experience especially because we are talking to the therapist from our own living space. Of course that adds a layer of security. In-person therapy is optimal but in its absence online therapy can be very powerful.

Christopher Stevenson
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMSW
The language of therapy has become ubiquitous in our culture. While the therapist in me appreciates this development, particularly if it is accompanied by a destigmatizing of mental health care, I understand some of the skepticism some might feel regarding therapy in general. For example, it is worth asking: How is it that our society seems increasingly alienated and atomized, even as
acknowledgment of trauma and ideas pertaining to emotional healing gain prominence in our discourse? Given all of this focus on self-care and wellness, why does it seem like so many of us feel
more alone and lost than ever?
Certainly, this dynamic is in part due to larger structural forces that shape our lives in ways both obvious and imperceptible. But rest assured, therapy absolutely can be a force for good, so long as we never lose sight of the paramountcy of human connection and avoid retreating into narcissism.
My approach to therapy is integrative, with an emphasis on relational work and psychodynamic principles and application. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and non-authoritarian space where we will identify the feelings and assumptions that generate the self-defeating patterns preventing you from experiencing joy and fulfillment in your life.
So many of us desire to feel more connected, less anxious, and less alienated, but we simply do not know how to achieve this reality. This is especially true for some of us who have experienced
attachment disruptions, or even more severe forms of trauma. Or, perhaps we see a path forward, but that path vanishes suddenly without warning and is replaced by malaise and renewed uncertainty, or, even worse, despair. Our work together will focus on developing that path in such a way where it will endure even in the face of adversity and the intrusion of the past into the present.
