There is a distinct mind-body connection that most of us are not aware of. When your mind suffers, your physical health soon follows. This very mind-body connection is something we will explore together in our counseling sessions. I focus on holistic healing methods that will bring together both the mental and physical aspects of yourself. I welcome clients of all ages and from all backgrounds and strive to make our sessions together a judgment-free space. I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with life transitions, anxiety, and depression. As we work together, I hope to help you find peace, purpose, and healing. In doing so, this may cause a ripple effect in your life that will impact others outside of therapy–creating a happier, healthier world around you. In each session, I will meet you where you are and will give you the patience you need to work at your own pace. I will strive to be an active listener as you explore your feelings and experiences. Are you ready to begin your journey of peace and healing? I look forward to our future together.

Navigating this world as a marginalized individual is hard. As a neurodivergent, queer individual, I get it. I feel an intense desire to help those who feel marginalized or shut out by society begin to feel acknowledged and loved while they begin to understand how they can take up space in this world without being rejected. You are the expert on your own life, I am simply here to guide you along your journey. I am deeply passionate about how humans think, work, and view the world, and want to help you explore your curiosities and come to a better understanding of yourself. Will you learn something new about yourself in therapy? I hope so! When I think about a person's mental health, I see it as a biological, psychological, and sociological experience intrinsically tied to many systems, some of which are beyond our control. Together, I can help you take control of what you can change and learn to adapt to the things that you can’t. With this mindset, I will help you better understand your surroundings and the effect the world has on your mental, physical, and social health. Together, we can create a better world focused on healing.

The language of therapy has become ubiquitous in our culture. While the therapist in me appreciates this development, particularly if it is accompanied by a destigmatizing of mental health care, I understand some of the skepticism some might feel regarding therapy in general. For example, it is worth asking: How is it that our society seems increasingly alienated and atomized, even as acknowledgment of trauma and ideas pertaining to emotional healing gain prominence in our discourse? Given all of this focus on self-care and wellness, why does it seem like so many of us feel more alone and lost than ever? Certainly, this dynamic is in part due to larger structural forces that shape our lives in ways both obvious and imperceptible. But rest assured, therapy absolutely can be a force for good, so long as we never lose sight of the paramountcy of human connection and avoid retreating into narcissism. My approach to therapy is integrative, with an emphasis on relational work and psychodynamic principles and application. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and non-authoritarian space where we will identify the feelings and assumptions that generate the self-defeating patterns preventing you from experiencing joy and fulfillment in your life. So many of us desire to feel more connected, less anxious, and less alienated, but we simply do not know how to achieve this reality. This is especially true for some of us who have experienced attachment disruptions, or even more severe forms of trauma. Or, perhaps we see a path forward, but that path vanishes suddenly without warning and is replaced by malaise and renewed uncertainty, or, even worse, despair. Our work together will focus on developing that path in such a way where it will endure even in the face of adversity and the intrusion of the past into the present.

The negative stories that society tells people of color impact their self worth, comfort in their own skin, and relationships. My practice focuses on rewriting those narratives so clients can understand their lived experience, challenge internalized beliefs, and heal from the impacts of racial oppression. As a psychotherapist, I work to empower the disempowered through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and intersectional approach. My focus is creating a space for clients to be unapologetically themselves, while gaining the confidence to navigate the world around them. My clients are mainly Black women, Muslim women, and women of color struggling with self love, self esteem, colorism, hair stigma, and intersectionality. Women of color are hit the hardest with race-related stress. And yet, they seldom have the proper resources or tools to heal. In my practice, I help clients disrupt the intergenerational trauma that continues impacting them. When dealing with race related stressors in a world that dismisses these struggles, it’s easy to become discouraged. You don’t need to feel ashamed of your experiences, feelings, or identity. Let’s write a new story together.

Some might look at an online therapy relationship as being inauthentic or diluted but I strive to build relationships that are quite the opposite in my online therapy practice. My goal is to create a space where my client feels safe, encouraged, understood and empowered. A space where the integrity of the therapeutic relationship is paramount. I have found that being in the comfort of your chosen space while sharing in mine, clients and I are able to create a relationship built on trust which enhances the ability to be vulnerable, along with flexibility and a shared convenience between us. In all, these factors allow for a therapeutic environment that leads to high levels of accomplishment in whatever area of concern/s is being addressed.

The world is great at telling us that we’re not enough. Not good enough, not skinny enough, not successful enough, not funny enough. But I’m here to tell you that these “not enoughs” are wrong. I know you don’t believe me yet - that’s what therapy is for. Your journey might remind me of my own. Witnessing people I care about grapple with anxiety and depression, and enduring the hurdles of an eating disorder in my adolescent years, I was exposed to the less-than-perfect parts of being human. It motivated me to make sure others don't face the same barriers. Now, as a therapist, I'll show you that recovery, growth, and thriving are possible. You're not just another client. In our space, you’ll find warmth, authenticity, and a sprinkling of humor. Here, you're celebrated for who you truly are. Leveraging my background in clinical therapy, coupled with tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I’ll cheer you on and watch you grow. Your decision to get help is the first step. I'm right here, ready to walk this path alongside you. Warm, kind, optimistic, and genuine - that's me in a nutshell. And you? You're deserving of every ounce of support and respect.

When your past is filled with pain and trauma, it can be incredibly hard to trust someone to walk alongside you in your life. Reaching out and seeking therapy is not an easy choice. Congratulations on being brave and taking the first steps toward a better, healthier you! If you feel you have been pushed aside by society, I offer a safe place where everyone is welcome, regardless of background. I am deeply passionate about working with marginalized people. I want to help those who have been pushed to the side by society find a positive way forward, in whatever way I can. Does this describe you? I would be honored to share a conversation with you. The only thing I ask from my clients is an open mind. Press pause on the world for a short time and explore your inner thoughts, desires, emotions, and traumas. I can help guide you to the root cause of many of your behaviors and discover the driving force in your life.I will push you at times to challenge your discomfort to help you grow stronger and be more in control of your life. It takes courage to tell your story, be vulnerable, and practice introspection. But as the old saying goes, “a problem shared is a problem halved.” Whether you’re experiencing challenges in your relationships, family, career, health, or questioning your life path, we’ll work together to find a solution. I’m a Counselor and Life Coach who supports people during life transitions—including marriage, divorce, career changes, motherhood, and grief and loss. Whatever you’re going through, I’ll be a compassionate listener who reframes the situation and so you can see it in a different, more positive, light. My approach draws heavily from logotherapy, which promotes action toward finding life’s purpose. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and solution-focused therapies to help clients examine life transitions, relationship friction, and the many other challenges they might encounter in life. Mental health and physical health are intertwined. I believe a holistic approach that incorporates good nutrition and exercise enhances talk therapy. A sense of humor is also invaluable in creating perspective and easing the load we are carrying. With that in mind, I look forward to working with you to reinvigorate your enthusiasm for life and optimism for the future.

For many young adults it can be hard to envision a future version of themselves because they don’t quite know who they are right now. If this feels like you, you have come to the right place. Transitioning from childhood to adulthood is overwhelming and sometimes scary. In fact, most adults in your life are still figuring things out. Life is all about learning who we are and continuing to grow into the person we envision ourselves being. My innate curiosity about life led me to want to know as much as I can about how the human mind functions and how experiences change us. I will help you take the complexities of life and teach you how to make things feel less complicated and overwhelming. It’s a journey of self-discovery, uncovering your purpose and giving you the power you need to take control of your life. Whether you have a strong, supportive community behind you, or you feel like you are going through life all alone, we all need someone fighting for us and I can be that someone for you.

After seeing a family member struggle with their mental health and the positive effect therapy had on them, I decided I wanted to help people in the same way. I want to hold space for you to speak freely about your thoughts, feelings, difficulties, and hardships. Through this process I will help you better understand yourself, your behavior and where you fit into the world. I work best with young people between ages 6 and 35 as I understand the difficulties life brings as you transition from adolescence to adulthood. During our time together, I will help lead you on a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance so you can begin to live a more fulfilling life. I am dedicated to creating a safe, warm, welcoming space where you are free to be honest and authentic. I know starting therapy can be an overwhelming or even scary experience. However, you have already taken the first step and I am ready to meet you where you are. Reach out and we can begin our journey together.

You know those coping tactics you've been leaning on? They may have done their job until now, and for that, they deserve a thank you. Now, it's time to get to know yourself well enough to find new, healthier ways of dealing with life that fit you better. I grew up immersed in a vibrant and diverse community, which has influenced my approach to therapy. It also instilled in me the importance of listening—really listening—to the stories people share. We tell stories to process pain, and the best way to process is to have a good listener. If you've got something you worry people will judge you for, know that my office is a judgment-free zone. I've worked with individuals dealing with a myriad of issues, including autism spectrum disorder, trauma, neurodiversity, and the nuances of the queer experience. Your story, in all its complexity, is worth telling and understanding here. Blending traditional therapy with creative outlets, we'll explore fresh perspectives on your challenges and triumphs. Whether it's through art or words, we'll navigate a tailored path to better mental health.
