"I can't shut my brain off" and "I am always over thinking things" are two of the most common things people tell me. Now let's work together to find balance and resolve old patterns. I help people who struggle with insomnia and learn how to handle anxiety at work, relationship and parenting stressors, and past trauma. I work with individuals who work hard and strive to achieve. Often these are the the individuals who need work-life balance, and boundaries because they try to be everything to everyone. My clients appreciate my practical, honest, and approachable style that gets them on the right path to feeling better. I use an evidence-based approach to help get results you are looking for. My specialty is working with people who struggle with getting good sleep and the things that keep them up at night. For 20+ years I have treated issues with self-esteem, trauma, anxiety and insomnia. I help people set boundaries and improve relationships. We will work on your patterns that keep you stuck in a practical way that gives you usable skills and tools. I am also Gottman training and provide Discernment Counseling for couples whose relationship is on the brink of breaking up. My clients choose me because they're looking for a caring and relatable therapist who provides a higher level of service in a non-judgmental space. With me you’ll get authentic connection, humor, & accountability. Virtual Visits allow us to meet where and when works for you. Therapist-Client fit is crucial, schedule a 20 min complimentary consultation today or schedule an full first visit and let's get started today.

With technology, you can experience all the benefits of in-person therapy on secure, easy-to-use, high-quality internet platforms. Online sessions allow you to do therapy in the comfort of your own home or allow you flexibility in environments that best suit you. It can be especially helpful to those who find it challenging to travel to an office for appointments due to location, work, children at home, lifestyle, or other practical or personal reasons. While there are multiple ways that counseling can take place online, I work primarily with face-to-face video conferencing via Zoom and, on occasion, telephone sessions. I always hold my sessions in a quiet and confidential space, giving you the same confidentiality & professionalism that you experience within an office setting. Most, if not all, of my clients, find virtual sessions to be highly effective and convenient. They allow for the comfort and safety of therapy in your own space, and no travel time is often less vulnerable than needing to go to an office. Research of multiple studies finds that online therapy is equally effective as in-person for most cases. That being said I always advocate for what works best for each individual and it is wonderful to have choices to find your best path whichever that may be. If you are not super-computer savvy or are anxious about how to use technology, I will work to make it as seamless as possible. I have chosen a platform that is easy to use and I am happy to assist you with any questions or concerns. A common concern I hear from clients regarding online therapy is finding a quiet and/or confidential space when you’re homebound with children and/or family members or roommates. Be sure and scope this out in advance so you are guaranteed quiet and privacy during your session. Since it is so convenient many times people forget to allow themselves a few minutes to "switch hats" and allow themselves a few breaths and get settled into being present and in the head/body space for your session. Headphones or Airpods can often make audio clearer or ensure more privacy but are not necessary. Given that video sessions can be conducted on your smartphone, clients have found it helpful to go to a park, sit in their car in the driveway, and/or walk around your neighborhood. Get creative and support yourself. Find a private space that allows you to receive support no matter where you are. You are welcome to have pets join your space if you find that comforting, and supporting, and you may see my fellow feline/canine therapists join in one of our sessions on my end.

We are a trauma treatment center treating all of OHIO. We believe in the good in people. We treat those that have survived abuse, maltreatment, neglect, natural disasters, victims of violent crimes, or other adverse life experiences. We are transparent with our clients and providers about the efficacy and risks of the highest evidence based practices that we use. We develop relationships with our survivors as individuals first and then have them lead the trauma treatment with our consultation and expertise. We use ongoing assessment measures to compare and show real progress across treatments. We teach skills for use outside of the therapeutic hour to heal and recover from the reactions of trauma. We work at the root cause of the traumatic stress reactions, the experiences themselves. People working with us believe in the good in themselves.
