Relationships ARE challenging. We often to look to our families and caregivers to teach us how to be in relationship but what if they were unable to teach us the skills and tools we need to be in a healthy relationship? What if they weren’t taught themselves? How can we possibly expect success in our own relationships? Counselling can help to create happy, healthy, lasting love: Discover healthy boundaries and how to establish and maintain them. Learn effective tools for communicating. Reconnect with your partner. Explore choices, values and beliefs that have created your current struggle so that options and solutions become clearer. Identify your needs, strengths, and gifts that each of you bring into relationship. Don’t wait until it’s too late...leaving these issues unresolved can lead to resentment, anger, and possibly the end of a relationship. The sooner you get help, the easier it is to turn things around. Don’t wait another day. You deserve connection, and the chance at a happier, healthier, relationship.

As a therapist who has been married for nearly 10 years, I am trained in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples work. I work with couples to build a stronger, more resilient connection. Utilizing the Gottman Method, I focus on enhancing communication, managing conflict, and fostering intimacy through evidence-based strategies. With EFT, I work to uncover and address the underlying emotional needs driving relationship patterns, helping partners create a deeper emotional bond and resolve distress. My approach aims to empower couples to rebuild trust, strengthen their relationship, and achieve lasting harmony.

Russ Webb - Insight Counselling Services

Counsellor/Therapist, MA, CT, RPC, MPCC
My background masters-level training is in systems training and couples work is about being able to work with the couple as a whole. It is recognizing and identifying that even disfunction in a relationship serves a function. Couples get stuck in patterns and it is helpful to be able to identify the patterns but then it is important to learn skills and move the conversation to a deeper level of understanding unmet needs, dreams, goals, and desires. When trust has been seriously broken, it needs to be recognized that forgiveness is possible but that an examination of all that was involved in the breaking of the trust to ensure that it does not become a pattern in the relationship. The modalities I would use would be Structural Strategic systems therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy, the Gottman Method, Satir Communications, and more to improve: couple communication, conflict resolution skills, address negative interactional patterns and improve resolution skills. It is critically important to say if you are coming for counselling because it is an abusive relationship, I will not do couples counselling as it can increase the abuse.
