Agoura Hills, California therapist: Tracy Sachs, therapist
Women's Issues

Tracy Sachs

Therapist, MA, AMFT
In our current patriarchal society, there are very few models for how to be a strong, feminine woman. With a lack of obvious models and archetypes to draw from, women often either take on the masculine hero's journey as their own or feel disempowered and weak. By drawing upon myths and archetypes, we can explore the heroine's journey of feminine power and apply it to the lived realities of life in areas such as motherhood, career, relationships, marriage, boundaries, and purpose.

Women's Issues

Jennie Steinberg - feminist, queer-affirming therapist

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, LPCC, PMH-C
I work with clients of all genders from a feminist perspective, which means that we consider the ways in which rigid gender roles and expectations are harmful to everyone. But this is particularly true for women and trans and nonbinary people. Women and female-socialized people are taught to be empathic caretakers, but we forget to make sure to take care of ourselves, and often find that others don't take care of us. We're told we can "have it all" but we're not given supports that make "it all" sustainable or even, perhaps, desirable. So often, if we feel broken, the reality of the situation is that we're perfectly functional, but broken systems are failing us. My feminism is trans-inclusive and conscious of intersectionality. In addition to supporting people who are struggling with these broader issues, I am also a certified perinatal mental health professional. I bring both my professional background and my lived experience to supporting people with uteruses who are coping with infertility or fertility treatments, pregnancy (including high-risk pregnancy), and the postpartum transition, ranging from identity questions and baby blues to postpartum depression and anxiety. If you feel like you could use some support in the monumental task of "existing while female," reach out. I look forward to meeting you soon!
