I have an underlying belief that we are spiritual beings. I also acknowledge that spirituality is a personal and unique relationship. I honor your beliefs and want to foster them towards your highest good. Unfortunately, as we move through life, experiences may challenge our spiritual understandings leaving us in spiritual crisis. If spirituality is light, without it, the seeds of joy and compassion cannot thrive. We will work to find your light.

Spirituality is a very important aspect of life for many people. For individuals with a very developed spiritual life working with a therapist who is understanding and supportive of their spirituality can be very helpful. For others who may be wanting to connect more deeply with spirituality it can be useful to include that as a focus within the therapy. As a psychotherapist I am very comfortable working with people with a wide range of spiritual beliefs. Sometimes I have knowledge about the the spiritual beliefs the person finds meaning in and other times my clients educate me bout spiritual topics and views I don't yet know about. My approach is to be highly supportive of incorporating spirituality into the therapy. Rather than trying to impose my own spiritual views or beliefs I strive to understand the beliefs and practices that have meaning to my clients and to help them to find ways of connecting with and using those beliefs to support them in their daily lives. Personally, I find a great deal of value from my study and practice of Buddhism. I am glad to engage with clients about Buddhist ideas and practices if these have meaning to the person but I only do so when invited, and in doing so I strive to find ways of it supporting the client's therapy.

Registered Psychotherapist, M.A., LMFT Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #139783
Our ancient ancestors used art, dance, music, and ritual to connect with the spirit realms. Our thinking, talking mind is only a small fraction of our psyche and experience. There is a vast, inner world of symbolic imagery that exists beneath our conscious mind. Carl Jung ventured to say that this inner world is our soul. When we connect with our inner world through imagination and creativity, we create meaningful opportunities to understand ourselves in new ways, regulate our emotions, rewire unconscious patterns and core beliefs, reprocess meanings linked with traumatic memories, develop a spiritual relationship with our soul, and unlock our spiritual power to heal and evolve. I help clients to explore their spirituality through a full spectrum of creative mediums and ancient wisdom from our ancestors.

Having a healthy sprit man is just as important as being healthy mentally and physically. Sometimes people find themselves being stagnant spiritually. Stagnancy can cause frustration, confusion and a feeling of a sense of bondage. Freedom can come through realizing God’s plan for your life.
