Wellness and Recovery Counseling, LLC’s aims to assist those struggling with social anxiety in finding ways to manage and channel their fears into more productive outcomes.
In treating social anxiety, I start by understanding specific fears and triggers through assessment. Using cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy, I help clients challenge irrational thoughts and gradually face social situations, developing personalized strategies to manage anxiety and build confidence.
If you're struggling with social anxiety, I help you identify and take steps to overcome your social fears and limiting beliefs to find your communication style, what works best for you, and practice doing it.
When you'd just like to connect to someone without overthinking. You'd like to go to the party, and actually walk in. You just want to connect without fear.
Let's do this.
Social anxiety is more than just being afraid to speak in public, for many people social anxiety is fear of being judged by other people in any social setting to the extent that they usually decline any social events. Treating social anxiety involves trying to find the source for the anxiety and the negative beliefs that have become part of the client's self beliefs so that we can desensitize, reframe, reprocess, and replace these negative beliefs with improved self-confidence. We will also use visualization exercises in which the client will imagine a social setting and being comfortable with who they are in social settings.
Social anxiety can make everyday interactions feel overwhelming. Psychotherapy provides a safe space to explore the root causes of your anxiety, develop coping strategies, and gradually build the confidence to engage in social situations with ease. Let's work together to help you rediscover the joy of connection.
