Bethesda, Maryland therapist: Dr. Patricia Webbink, psychologist
Autism and Asperger's

Dr. Patricia Webbink

Psychologist, MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology
I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism and Asperger’s in for over 50 years. I began my work with Autistic children at Duke University, where I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. There I studied with pioneers in the field of childhood autism, including Dr. Eric Schopler, a researcher into Autism and a colleague of Dr. Bernard Rimland, an early icon in the field of autism. For over 30 years, I created and produced summer programs for Autistic children where they received one-on-one attention. I have published four books, including The Power of the Eyes, which devotes a section to eye contact in autistic children. During my years of postdoctoral experience, I developed an expertise with children, adolescents and adults with Aspergers syndrome. These are bright individuals who can sometimes appear to function well, but who are plagued with poor judgment and limited interpersonal skills. Because they are often very bright, they can appear to be higher functioning than they are able. “A Beautiful Mind” is an extreme example of a brilliant individual who is plagued by hallucinations and delusions. Manhattan, New York therapist: Leo Massey, therapist
Autism and Asperger's

Leo Massey

Therapist, LMSW
For individuals who have been formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), I equip them with the most effective Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help them cope in their day-to-day life. These skills are drawn directly from the Neurodivergent DBT skills workbook. This approach, combined with meeting clients where they are, helps them manage overwhelming situations, sensory-related issues, and executive functioning difficulties. I look forward to working together to help you achieve your therapeutic goals!

Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania therapist: Rosemarie Manfredi, psychologist
Autism and Asperger's

Rosemarie Manfredi

Psychologist, Psy.D.
I am a neuropsychologist with extensive expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders throughout the lifespan. In my practice, I am able to do diagnostic evaluations for ages 2.5 and up, including into adulthood. I offer a range of evaluation types depending on age and needs, from a diagnostic evaluation designed to determine whether someone has an ASD to a very comprehensive evaluation that assesses the impact of ASD (and any other comorbid difficulties) on learning, development, and behavioral functioning. By providing an in-depth understanding of the person with an ASD, I can make specific and individualized recommendations for educational, career, and treatment settings. I also offer career assessments and guidance for individuals with ASDs in order to help identify careers that match their interests, skills, and abilities.
