Trauma may be understood in different ways. Professionally, understanding trauma stems from individuals who are seeking help. Another way to learn about trauma is through research or reading. Experiencing personal trauma provides an inside means of understanding and feeling someone's trauma. I combine professional and personal trauma experiences in helping others.

Trauma and PTSD affects so many of us, but it doesn’t have to forever. It takes and brave person to face their wounds so they can heal. If you take the first step, I’ll be here to help.

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a trauma or stress related disorder that may develop after exposure to a traumatic or life threatening event or ordeal. Post-Traumatic StressDisorder can be treated through the umbrella of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Licensed Professional Counselor, LCPC, LPC, BC-TMH, CCTP-II
PTSD does not have to be a lifetime condition. I offer Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based therapy which can resolve PTSD in an average of 12 sessions. Some people are hesitant to try therapy for their trauma or PTSD because they, understandably, don't want to talk about and relive the details of their trauma. The good news is that with CPT, you aren't asked to do this! The therapy focuses entirely on what you believe about the trauma, that is what you believe about why it happened and what it means about you and the world. I'm sure you have questions, so contact me to arrange for a free 15-minute telehealth (video) consultation. It's a good way for you to see if you might feel comfortable working with me.
I engaged with multiple populations with the trauma they experienced from their family. I have a trauma-informed lens approach that will provide ways for you to work through those uncomfortable experiences.
