Alicja who is a Principal Therapist at H-L Therapy is both a Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Hypnotherapist. She specialises in using clinical hypnotherapy alongside cognitive behaviour therapy and psychoeducation for the management of anxiety, negative thoughts, chronic pain, and habits, such as smoking. Many people with anxiety and depression respond well to hypnotherapy and it can support them in achieving long lasting results. Hypnotherapy services are available to privately paying clients. Some of the NDIS participants can also receive subsidised therapy sessions that combine counselling, CBT strategies and clinical hypnotherapy (if congruent with their NDIS goals). Hypnotherapy services cannot be subsidised by Medicare, but they can be provided to Medicare subsidised clients in addition to their usual therapy at additional cost.

My approach to hypnotherapy is deeply personal and crafted to meet your unique needs. Through the transformative power of the subconscious mind, with over 7 years of experience, I aim to help you address and overcome the challenges you're facing, whether they're addictions, anxiety, or emotional distress. My practice is built on understanding how hypnotherapy can catalyse significant, lasting change. I offer a space that's not just supportive but also empathetic, where personal growth and healing are not just goals but realities we'll achieve together. Understanding the depths of your struggles, I'm here to guide you through a journey of rediscovery and empowerment, creating a transformative healing process.
I draw on a range of hypnotherapeutic tools and styles of hypnosis to help you achieve the goals you are wanting to attain. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool (not a magic pill) that can put positive new data into the container of your mind. Hypnotherapy used in conjunction with tools like NLP and Gestalt can help you get some great change.
According to the wonderful Dr Michael Yapko, there's no such thing as Hypnotherapy. There are psychotherapists like Dr Yapko and me, who use the power of hypnosis to bring about seismic changes in the lives of our clients. Smokers become non-smokers. Angry, out-of-control people become calmer. People whose lives are constrained by fear-like symptoms can live calmly again. Hypnosis is a medium and one I love using.
