ACT focuses on accepting what is out of your control while committing to actions that improve your quality of life. Chronic pain exhausting. It makes you feel that you lost yourself. Due to the pain, it is difficult to manage your anger and relationships with close people got worse. During our sessions, we will try to find a way how to get back yourself and live your life despite the pain.
What I am going to share may sound impossible to believe. But learning how to compassionately hold or accept the chronic pain or illness you are living with while developing skills to remove barriers for fear in your mind can give you the freedom to live the life you want. How? Working together as a team, we will mindfully explore and develop skills to drop the internal battle with the fear of pain and suffering. Letting go of the fight against ourselves changes how we think about pain and suffering; it decreases the mental focus on pain, worrying and stress, releasing you from perpetuating the cycle of pain.
Perpetual Cycle of Pain = Connecting and focusing on pain and suffering leads to avoiding experiences that may create more pain and suffering. As lived experiences and social interactions get smaller because of avoidance, we become disconnected, lonely and isolated - creating additional pain and suffering.
