Depression can be defined as having a negative thought patterns. A combination of CBT and Narrative would be beneficial in identifying and exploring a clients relationship to depression and developing a healthier thought pattern. Art could help a client draw what their depression looks like and explore ways to diminish it.
For depression, I utilize a cognitive behavioural therapy approach. The focus is on one's thoughts, emotions and behaviours as they all influence and impact each other. By identifying the pattern, each can be challenged and adapted to in an effective way.
