Maddie (Matin) Motamed
Registered Psychotherapist, Master's in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy
Asking for help is a sign of strength. If you are looking for help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, BPD, PTSD or have been a victim of narcissistic abuse, it takes courage to ask for help. Admitting you can’t do everything alone is the first step toward achieving wellness in a fast-paced, demanding world. Therapy can enable you to delve deeper through inner child work and reparenting yourself to heal your trauma wounds and move forward. Asking for help and obtaining a fresh perspective of your past is the first and most profound step toward developing the mental muscle needed to attain emotional and mental strength.
As an experienced psychotherapist, I aim to help you navigate your emotions and move toward a healthy and fulfilling life. I specialize in working with women's issues and use modalities like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Relational Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Practices, ACT, and Solution-Focused therapy.
I believe in forming an authentic therapeutic relationship with respect to the client’s cultural background. One can face difficult emotions with a suitable therapeutic approach that tailors individual emotional needs. Therapy is a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can unpack their deepest feelings, learn to process emotions, and gain clarity.

Pre-Licensed Professional, MA, MSc
I know how scary it can be to face our struggles and open up to a new person—I’ve been in therapy myself for many years. It’s not easy work! That's why I’m focused on building trust and staying curious about who you are and how you’re experiencing the process. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling cared for, understood, accepted, and connected with. Clients find that this experience builds self-understanding, a sense of worth, and a growing agency they carry into the rest of their lives.
I’m a Student Therapist in my final year at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. What is relational therapy? This approach understands our struggles as stemming from difficulties in relationships, past and present. Maybe you haven’t received the kinds of connections, supports, and understanding you’ve needed and it’s impacted how you relate to yourself and others. Perhaps bad experiences have made it hard to navigate daily life or build new dynamics. You might be navigating loss, abandonment, harm, guilt, or conflict and need support with this. We’re nearly all impacted by cultures of disconnection, over-work, domination, and hyper-individualism. Relational therapy can be a space to notice all of this and experience something new—a more connected and fulfilling inner and outer life.
I’m dedicated to practicing from a client-led and trauma-informed perspective that understands the deeply traumatic impacts of white supremacy, colonialism, cishetero-patriarchy, ableism, and other oppressions. I will hold curiosity for how systems, culture, and identity impact your life, relationships, and our work together.
But in all of this, we only go as deep and as wide as you want to—I make sure we’re following your pace and attending to what feels most urgent. I won't tell you what healing looks like for you, but I'll be excited to figure that out together.

Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Gottman Trained Couples Therapist
As a gestalt psychotherapist, who pairs gestalt training with somatic experiencing I can help support you in healing from your trauma.
No one in the Niagara Region utilizes the combination of these therapies and applies them to working with couples in crisis. Gottman (couples) and Post Induction Therapy training (relational/developmental trauma)
I am sorry to say but popular approaches to healing trauma like CBT will provide only temporary relief at best.
If you want to get to the root of your trauma and heal somatic experiencing (SE) is what you need and when supported with the power of relational gestalt therapy you will shift your shit!
SE focuses on regulating your nervous system.
With SE work trauma responses are completed and energy is released back into the system and with this the resolution and disappearance of physical complaints, including headaches, digestive problems, and pain syndromes can be resolved, and emotional regulation can be restored.
I will teach you how to work with your stress response - the body's innate alarm system in response to a perceived danger, also called the "Fight or Flight" response.
It is highly adaptive to danger and human survival when threats are physical, but less so when threats are psychological, or imaginary, among other somatic and relational skills.
I have been trained under Dr Abi Blakeslee part of Dr Peter A Levine's legacy group out of California for Somatic Experiencing and the late great Dr Bud Feder the author of Beyond the Hot Seat was on my dissertation committee overseeing a phenomenological study of the effectiveness of a gestalt therapy group I created to reduce stress in working informal caregivers of the elderly. I named the group process Stressed WOW (We Overloaded with Work).
Gestalt therapy is an extremely complex psychotherapy, too complex to describe in this short space.
The power of its effectiveness can only be experienced.
Most present day therapies have stolen bits and pieces of its praxis.
Get the whole again with a holistic, here and now, experiential therapy.
I am here for you... I've got your six!

New Moon Psychotherapy
Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MACP, MSW, RSW, RP, RP(Q)
We are a team of Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers who specialize in supporting individuals through effective and research backed trauma, relationship, and sex therapy.
We began as a trauma focused clinic - our team has a solid understanding of the countless small and large ways that trauma impacts us. We work with traumatic stress and related difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD and complexPTSD), addiction, self-harm, and suicide ideation. We support survivors of sexual violence as well as those who have experienced emotional and physical abuse, criminal victimization, bullying, war, and near death experiences.
We've found that as people heal, relationships and intimacy naturally becomes a secondary focus. For this reason we offer family, couples, and sex therapy. We support individuals of all gender and sexual identities and relationship structures.
We respect diversity and differences in opinions, values and attitudes. This is reflected through individualized treatment plans which consider each individuals lived and generational experiences. We strive to provide culturally-sensitive, non-discriminatory, and affirming care to culturally diverse populations and BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, kink and polyamorous communities.
Our goal is to help you break free from your past and rediscover a fulfilling life filled with joy and connection.
