I had experience working with individuals who experienced different areas of trauma such as intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, childhood abuse, and religious trauma. I was recently certified in Dr Karyl McBride's 5 Step Recovery Model for Adult Children of Narcissists which helps me to provide support to individuals who survived narcissistic abuse.
I specialize in working with adults and teens (16+) in recovery from mental health conditions and life stressors. Some of these include anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use disorders, eating disorders, loss, grief, life transitions, women's and LGBTQIA+ health issues and trauma.
I was trained in Advanced clinical Hypnotherapy and as a Breathwork Release Therapist to work with trauma, both childhood trauma and adult trauma like PTSD. It is important to get to the root or source of our trauma and emotionally release anything in that period of trauma back to the person(s) or circumstance(s) in order not to be triggered and project it onto someone or something else, and, not the original cause.
Trained in trauma informed care, mindfulness and EMDR which are best-practice interventions to support people with childhood trauma and recent trauma and/or significant life stressors reduce their symptoms and feel better.
I've found that the range of traumas that people experience disrupts our experience of day-to-day life and relationships in so many ways. So many people who've experienced patterns of traumatizing, persistently invalidating, or minimizing experiences have found coping strategies to manage the profound impacts of trauma but eventually find that those strategies no longer work. Together, we will look at the impact of traumas and using a range of practices, which potentially include EMDR, internal parts work, and polyvagal theory, we will work to supportively rebuild a sense of self-guided trust in the world.
I am certified in TF-CBT and trained in IFS techniques. These two models are evidenced based, and have been researched and proven to be effective in the treatment of trauma.
