Glasgow, Scotland therapist: Heather Macfarlane, registered psychotherapist
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Heather Macfarlane

Registered Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist
I decided on this profession as having had therapy myself I know that it can make such a difference and I'm passionate about helping others fulfill their potential and not be held back in life by issues that can be dealt with. It can help to have someone impartial to talk to who can help you through difficult times and give you some space to deal with whatever is causing your distress. This is where I can help. I believe people seek therapy because they want to make a change in their lives. This can be scary, but I hope to be able to offer a supportive, calm, safe environment for you to explore your issues and work towards the best solution for you. I have worked with people on a wide variety of issues including OCD, phobias, tokophobia (fear of pregnancy and childbirth) general anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationships and weight issues. I am an Accredited Member of COSCA, the professional body for counsellors in Scotland and am fully insured by the Psychologists Protection Society.

Counsellor/Therapist, Dip. Integrative Counselling, Dip Youth Counselling, Dip. Christian Counselling, Cert. NLP Master coach, Cert. Anxiety Management, Cert. Adv. Dip. Psychology, PGDip. Theology and Self leadership, BSc, Cert. Trauma Informed Counsellor
I am a compassionate, caring, patient person who has always had an interest in people.  That’s why I started my career early on as a trainer. I transitioned into counselling because I really enjoy talking with people about relationships, life issues, a knack for listening, helping identify blocks that’s keeping them from their best self and removing those challenges.  My practice reflects my unique people skills and insights with an emphasis on evidence-based treatments for youths and adults with relationship-related concerns, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, anger issues, grief & loss, etc. Over the years I have been privileged to work with clients from diverse culture, ethnicity, gender orientations between 18 to 70 years in age. The most rewarding aspect is clients realising that the resources required to overcome their issues  is within them, becoming whom they want to be and empowered to embrace themselves. I have been an integrative Counsellor for more than 6 years and absolutely love what I do. I currently offer both virtual and onsite to ensure convenience and easy accessibility. My clients experience a safe, confidential space to share their story and talk about whatever is on their mind, at their pace . I believe that building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, non-judgement and empathy is foremost. As an Integrative Counsellor I draw on a wide range of approaches to tailor sessions uniquely to a client.

Christchurch, England therapist: Saffron Marriner, counselor/therapist
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Saffron Marriner

Counsellor/Therapist, MBACP (Accred)
My name is Saffron. I am an accredited member of the BACP and have been practicing as a counsellor and psychotherapist for twenty years both within an agency setting as well as within my private practice, where I offer face to face, online, telephone and walk and talk appointments. I have worked with clients across the age range of 14 up to and past the retirement age. The service that I offer welcomes people from all backgrounds in a way which is non discriminatory and supportive. Counselling offers an opportunity to process personal challenges and difficulties within an environment that is supportive and confidential. At times this might include discussing painful and uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, emotions. You are not alone with this as many people experience these at different points of their lives. When this is happening it can be hard to remain in a positive and focused frame of mind. Sometimes people feel overwhelmed and feel unable to continue to cope in the way that they usually could with their life on a day to day basis. One of the ways that counselling can help is by providing a space to process personal, behavioural and relationship issues in a safe and confidential way with a qualified professional. My role is to support you with this process in a way that is non judgmental, free from criticism or giving advice as to what I believe is the right thing for you to do. By working together in this way I am there alongside you as you find your own answers in a way that is right for you as we are all individual and unique and what is right for one person may not feel right for someone else. Of course you don't have to tell me everything about yourself and your life if you are not comfortable with this however you may find it beneficial to be as open and honest as you are able to be.
