I began to pursue being a therapist because it is a source of healing and understanding and I want to help nurture that in others. I believe in paying it forward. I believe I have 2 superpowers. One is listening and the other is being curious. These create a powerful amalgam for change when used with proven therapeutic tools. Change can be scary, but sometimes we take a step into the unknown in spite of our fear. I believe this is being brave. That is the step that can move you toward the change and understanding you want.
It is my pleasure to be a part of my client's journey, to watch them grow, and to find relief from their distress. My specialties include personal growth, relationships (family, friends, co-workers, couples), trauma, and anxiety/depression among others.
In years of practicing counseling and doing my own training and research, I have learned that besides knowing "Why" it is also important to know "How." I find many people knowing where their trauma or problem is coming from, but they are still not able to move forward and resolve the issue. My focus is on understanding the client's challenges and then helping them move forward with practical and manageable steps.
