I'm a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of counseling experience. My style is empathic, supportive, and insight oriented. I aim to provide an environment that is safe and supportive, and work in a collaborative fashion to identify and reach clinical goals. I use therapeutic techniques that are research-based and proven to be effective and make every effort to support you in making progress on your journey towards growth and healing.
We provide high quality counseling and mental health services to children, teens and adults in Virginia. We were founded on the principle that all individuals will face challenges in life, and we all posses the ability to overcome them. However, sometimes circumstances can feel overwhelming and we struggle to manage the realities of everyday life. This is when feelings of depression, anxiety and hopelessness can begin to dominate our daily reality. The good news is, by combining scientifically proven methods, you can build the resilience skills necessary to thrive, no matter what circumstances you face. We are a team of over 40 Counselor’s and Therapist’s each offering a unique skill set to meet your individualized needs.

I have been a therapist for over 10 years and running my own company for the last 2. I use a combination of Biblical therapy as well as CBT. I truly care for my clients and desire them to have a more joyful life free of anxiety and depression. I have worked with many individuals, families, and marriages and have seen growth and freedom from stress achieved. I have seen marriages put back together and families and individuals before stronger. I also host a podcast with my wife and we cover topics such as marriage, narcissism, relationships, etc.

So every therapist will say they want clients to feel genuinely understood, and I think they do, but I've watched a few whole anime series that I don't personally like just to get more insight on a teen client, and I've read books and research journals for adult clients with unusual circumstances. I only mention it to point out that I'm highly motivated to "get" someone's experience, whatever that may be. I’m committed to honoring each client’s right to self-determination, guiding them toward their own goals rather than imposing my personal views. Part of that is also letting clients in on my thought process "behind the scenes" as much as I can.
Now accepting new clients! Excellent listening skills and empathy come with the 14 years I served as a certified nurse midwife prior to becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, which ultimately led me to the decision of becoming a perinatal mental health certified practitioner. I have a passion for caring for pregnant and postpartum clients, but also offer general psychiatric services to anyone ages 18-64 experiencing mild to moderate mental health conditions.
For those interested in a faith-based approach to mental health care, I have additional training in Christian mental health coaching, but this is not a requirement for treatment.
