Colin Longworth - HPCCH Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Psychology & Counselling Services
Psychologist, MAPS, B Psych ECowan, GradDipCounselMurdoch,
I am a mature-aged Cisgender Gay Male Psychologist, Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, who came to psychology as a mature-aged student (studying mainly part time) after working in a variety of blue and white-collar jobs.
I find it interesting to investigate (therapeutically) how an individual (or couple) came to be where they are at this time of life. I refer to it as my "benevolent curiosity" which I use to seek to assist clients who come to see me (in person or online).
My belief is that for some clients they like the idea of working with a Gay man who is also a psychologist, and therefore (potentially) has first-hand knowledge and experience with some of the issues that an LGBTI person may experience. (i.e. the client is unlikely to need to "educate" me on aspects of LGBTI life.)
I also like the thought of being able to assist other LGBTI people feel more comfortable with where they are in life, by making use of my over half a century's life experience, decades of volunteer experience, all combined with my tertiary training.

Su (Xufeng Su)
Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist
I am a provisional psychologist who is committed to delivering genuine person-centered and strength-based therapy and providing a space that is safe, welcoming and free from judgements or stigma. As a therapist, I aim to assist and support clients in exploring their unique values and identities.
Through my own lived experience, I have a deep understanding of the imbalance and distress we can feel when experiencing oppression or being unable to live our authentic lives. When supporting my clients – instead of assuming the expert position – I partner with them, exploring their potential and understanding who they want to be. During the therapy journey, my goal is to create a secure place where my clients can be heard.

Lia Lawton
Psychologist, Generally-Registered Psychologist
Passionate about supporting individuals and couples in navigating the complexities of the mind, relationships, and sexuality, I strive to help clients become their most authentic selves, fostering self-connection and healing from trauma. My therapeutic approach is warm, empathetic, and person-centred, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and desires.
I am deeply understanding of the varied challenges faced by neurodiverse young people. I recognize that neurodiversity can significantly affect daily life, including academic performance, social interactions, self-esteem, and overall well-being. This is particularly true for those who may have experienced late diagnoses or misdiagnoses, often leading to additional challenges.
